Sledding Adventures

We had some fun sledding adventures at the sand dunes outside of Rexburg, Idaho. We spent Christmas with Mandy, Tyrel and their family, and Randy, Holly and their family and had a blast with everyone. Christmas Eve afternoon was spent playing in the snow. Randy and his family found a steep dune to "jump" off and sled down. Daylen had fun climbing up and sliding down on his bum. He's overall a pretty cautious kid, but when it come to sledding this kid has no fear it seems. He LOVES is while Kate, my crazy daredevil, is quite the opposite when it comes to sledding and snow. I got some nice footage, but unfortunately I have not been able to upload it successfully. I'll keep trying and post it later if I can.

Snow Adventures

With all the snow storms we've had lately, Daylen has loved going out and playing in it.

Over Thanksgiving we inherited a 4-wheeler from Brad's brother, Randy, when he moved up the Alaska. We noticed our neighbors out pulling sleds behind their little mini ATVs and thought it looked fun. So Brad ran to the store to buy a sled and got the LAST one left! It was the perfect toddler sled for pulling behind a 4-wheeler. He and Bryson pulled Daylen and his cousins, Nathan and Lily on the sleds. Here is Brad pulling Daylen.

Lily and Nathan

I love this picture of Lily, she looks like she is trying to suppress a smile, but she is secretly LOVING this!
We had so much fun having family here for a week, off and on. Besides playing in the snow we ate lots of good food, shopped, watched movies, played lots of Bohnanza (our new favorite game), sang carols, bowled, and just enjoyed being together.

Playing in the Snow

This last Saturday morning brought yet another blizzard of snow to Spanish Fork. I don't remember the last time we didn't have snow on the ground. It was great packing snow and Brad was itching to get outside. So...after shoveling our driveway he decided to make a snowman. Not your average 3 balls of stacked snow with a corn cob pipe and a button nose and 2 eyes made out of coal, no no no...he made this lovely monkey playing the cymbals. Brad is always thinking of the creative way to go about doing something and I think he did a great job, don't you? Unfortunately as you can see it is kind of "leaning," well, that afternoon bought the strong winds and toppled our poor snow monkey to the ground. But we have the pictures to prove he really did exist!
